holy crap. I have only been to a handful of really good shows that weren't slow or boring towards the end, or that I literally never wanted to end, and Jamie XX was definitely top 3 of those shows.
I'm finding out more and more that although I like seeing a lot of indie bands, the shows might not be as hype as you'd want them to be. I like seeing DJ's because it's always original and never boring. Every show is slightly different, and everyone's in a good mood, and dancing, and also it didn't hurt that he's really cute. He's a scorpio, is that helps.
I took probably over 500 photos and finally narrowed them down to the best ones that accurately represent the way it felt to be there. A few are on the music and live show page but i'm posting the rest here.
such a different sound than the xx, the band he was affiliated with before he split off and made his first solo album, in colour. That album is amazing. Slow start to get used to, if you don't know what to expect, but after a couple of listens, i could definitely describe the feeling of listening to the album - as an addiction.
love this one, if i do say so myself. #tired #sweaty #moremoremore
i love how he never really said or did anything, just started playing and never talked. every now and then he would look up, and be like, 'whoa'; smile a little bit at what he created, and just keep playing.
and then he leaves us. and the teen fan girl inside me wanted ask him if i could hang out with him and his band. however i went home and stayed up till 4 am editing everything. #love #dedication #djs #talentissexy #scorpios
if anyone has the chance to see him live, i highly recommend it. also, buy the album, obvi.
